The village of Saint Seine is the perfect home base for lovely day trips. Whether you are looking for nature, culture, children’s play areas or beautiful wine routes… it is all right on our doorstep. There are too many possibilities to mention them all but we have tried to sum up the most popular ones.

Interesting towns in the area
The little village of Saint Seine is surrounded by many inviting, historic French towns. It is lovely spending some time in the old city centre of Luzy, and also the medieval centre of Bourbon-Lancy is worth a visit. Bring your swimming costume to go for a refreshing swim in the beautiful lake. The vibrant town of Decize will keep you entertained with one of the biggest fun fairs in France, and a large flea market. In Autun you will feel like you are back in Roman times and you can even find traces of the Middle Ages. This beautiful old city boasts an indoor market on Friday’s with lovely regional produce.
Sporty outings
There is also plenty to do for our sporty guests. There are some beautiful cycling trails in the area, but mind you… the steep hills make it quite a challenge. Golf enthusiasts can use the golf course in Bourbon-Lancy (9 holes) and Autun (11 holes). If you enjoy fishing, you will love the old water mill of La Nocle-Maulaix or you can catch fish in the Loire and Allier rivers.
In for a beautiful hike? There are over 40 hiking trails in the surrounding area of Saint Seine, varying from 4 to 18 kilometres. National Park de Morvan is also absolutely worth a visit. Here you can hike, cycle and canoe in a breath taking environment.
Wine routes
La Cressonne is a good starting point to discover the different wine regions. Côte d’Or with its Grand Crus, the Côte Chalonaise with its Grand vins, the Mâconnaise with its divine white wines and the most northern tip of the Beaujolais with its Crus. West of Ternant you’ll find the Coteaux Pouilly-Sancerre and the Chablis. Enjoy!
An outing with the kids
Saint Seine and surroundings offer many possibilities, also for children. You could swim, canoe and paddle boat in the lake of Bourbon-Lancy. We also recommend amusement park Le Pal in Dompierre sur Besbre. La Pal is an amazing amusement park where you will be entertained for the entire day. Diverti parc in Toulon-sur-Arroux is a play paradise for smaller and bigger children. This park has several jumping castles, trampolines, games, different kinds of bicycles and animals
